The historical site of David Gareji is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex partly hewn out of rock and partly built of stone and brick, located in eastern Georgia on the semi-desert slopes of Mount Gareja. The monastery includes cells for the monks, several churches, important chapels, cloisters, canteens and numerous paths that bring people into direct contact with nature.

Demolition of some superfetations built in the last thirty years. Environmental enhancement of the historical context by rehabilitating the internal beaten earth and stone paths and landscaping. Renovation of the roofing tiles. Construction of new cells for monks within the monastery wall enclosure
